Cycle of Love

At Bubble London, we always try to promote a sense of responsibility to the environment, with many brands exhibiting regarding fair-trade and eco-friendliness as essential to their product.

Islington's BDC is also the UK’s first CarbonNeutral exhibition centre, allowing Bubble London to take place in a green and sustainable exhibition space.

Artist Tommaso Guerra is keen to ask everyone to consider their carbon footprint and think more about green credentials. Guerra uses the medium of public street art to encourage the use of bicycles in urban areas. His beautiful typography creates a striking message.

Forever Young

Each season at Bubble London, we adoringly look through the collections on show, with many of us thinking 'if only they made this for grown ups'. Well, it seems our wishes and whisperings haven't gone unnoticed!

Those who have stopped by the Poppy stand at the show will have seen designer, Bryony and the team modelling specially made dresses themselves. Now, the British clothing range which depicts a little girl and her dog, Fred's adventures on the hem of its dresses, have officially launched a range for women.

With new styles, prints and colours for s/s 2012, the dresses for adults will be available in sizes 10 to 18.

"The designs translate really well from children’s to elegant women’s wear. People are really enthusiastic about the pastel shades and vintage feel.”
Bryony Richardson.

The dresses, priced at £98 RRP, will be available in independent boutiques and also online at www.poppychildren.co.uk, with beautiful gift wrapping and free delivery.

Rule Britannia!

In this patriotic year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics, we salute Kelly Swallow for this masterpiece.

Commissioned by a client who was involved in the whole process, the Rule Britannia chair most definitely fly the British flag in style!

A bright, new chapter

By Laura Turner, editor CWB Magazine

Not everyone can say they love their job but, at the risk of sounding smug, I can honestly say I do. Having worked on CWB magazine for many years now, the recent developments to the title in terms of its redesign, together with its new online presence at http://www.cwb-online.com/, has made for exciting times.

Redesigning CWB was a huge task with a multitude of considerations to bear in mind, but equally it was the most satisfying of challenges. Everything was analysed – from the content, layout and paper stock, through to the fonts and hues of the colour palette – and every decision was made with the reader and the industry we serve at the forefront of our minds. Like anything that puts you forward for the judgement of others it was also nerve-wracking, especially waiting for that first issue to appear in print – will it look as good as I remembered

In the end, I believe that, if you have faith in your product and put your heart and soul into making it the best you can, you just have to trust that it shows. As it was, CWB was everything I could have wished for. The feedback at Bubble London, where we officially launched the new look complete with a celebratory drinks do on the CWB stand, was resoundingly positive.

The magazine and website – which is now very much live and kicking – together with very active Twitter and Facebook accounts mean the CWB brand has never been stronger. There are exciting times and developments ahead.

Here’s to the future and a bright, new chapter for CWB.

Donna Wilson's Egg-traordinary Easter

Having set up her company in 2003, after making odd knitted creatures for her final show at the Royal College of art, Donna Wilson has expanded her offerings to include cushions, blankets, and other luxurious products for the home.

This Easter, Donna has designed a selection of hand painted eggs for the delicious, award winning UK company Rococo chocolate.

For those that aren't as sweet toothed, Donna has also designed a selection of egg-citing cups, hand made and printed in Stoke-on-Trent. Perfect for eggy soldiers!

Larger than life!

Even though Stuart Murdoch's design is all over the internet, we still wanted to blog about it.
Unveiled yesterday on Bournemouth Beach, the world's largest deckchair measures eight and a half metres tall by five and a half metres wide, and weighs almost six tonnes.

Don't forget to set you clocks forward an hour this weekend as this year's Great British Summer kicks in!

Go Green

This weekend, we celebrate the most commonly recognised patron saint of Ireland, St Patrick. Over the years, St Patrick's Day has also become more of a celebration of Irish culture in general.

While the original colour associated with St Patrick was blue, we now think of green as we celebrate this day, wearing green ribbons, shamrocks and other green clothing in celebration.

The importance of Crawling

When Victoria Beckham’s love for Crawlings went viral on the twittersphere, everyone started praising these soft, stretchable and breathable kneepads.

Founded by sisters and new mothers, Tina Dowden and Hailey Kim, Crawlings give your child that extra protection while they learn to navigate the big and sometimes wobbly world.

The icing on the cake? They are stylish as it gets with their fun embroidered designs.

Window Shopping at Little Liberty

In childrens' favourite, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Alice takes a closer look at a wall-hung mirror behind a fireplace to discover she is able to step through it and into an alternate, magical world.

It's easy to feel this way, when you look into a shop window, admiring the thoughtfully put together, attention grabbing displays of clothing, gifts and interiors which acheive a 'must have' result.

The shop window effect makes even shoppers with the largest amount of will power, imagine the alternate world, owning such products would provide.

Little Liberty's new window displays emulate exactly that. They transport us beyond this world, into outer space, through forests of trees and journey into enchanted woodlands full of Liberty print tipis.
