As the Olympic Torch relay made its way through Islington, we spotted a unique sculpture by Czech artist David Cerny outside the Business Design Centre.

Commissioned for the Olympics, London Booster, is based on a red 'Routemaster' bus manufactured in 1957.

 When switched on, it performs press-ups!

Ecole Maternelle Pajol in Paris has been given a very colourful makeover. 

The refurbishment of the 1940s building was completed last year by French architects Palatre & Leclere.

 

The key symbol - a rainbow - dominates the kindgarten's indoor and outdoor spaces, making it a fun and joyful place.

 

Gift-Wrapped

As the official department store provider to the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games, John Lewis' flagship shop on Oxford Street has been wrapped in a giant Union Flag.

Four of its other shops around the country have also been decked out with patriotic banners.

This Saturday, Harrods will open the doors to its new Toy Kingdom - a 26,000-square-foot multi-sensory department with an enchanted forest, intergalactic science lab, curious sweet emporium and toy ‘grand canyon’.

Featuring not only an extensive collection of must-haves,Toy Kingdom will also take your little ones on an extraordinary 4D adventure though six individual worlds including a spectacular reading room.

Sweet Tooth

For TWELV Magazine's debut issue, Hissa Igarashi and Sayuri Marakumi created a dress entirely out of gummy bears; paying homage to the late Alexander McQueen.

 

Taking three weeks to complete, 50,000 gummy bears were painstakingly glued on by hand in a colorful pattern reminiscent of a Chevron rainbow.

Nixie Stardust

Last week, we ventured out to East London to preview Nixie Clothing’s most novel collection yet.

Inspired by Davie Bowie’s ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’, Nixie Stardust is a playful collection for girls aged 4 to 12.

The afternoon was punctuated with champagne, homemade peanut buttercups and live music.
