We like to think of Jan von Holleben’s No CCTV No Guards series as a modern version of Halloween.
A gang of kids being locked into a department store, having fun and enjoying some sugary treats!
Happy Halloween!

Dressing Up Box
After posting Anton Tang's creative scenes using Danboard Figures last week, we've become a bit of a fan of cardboard creations.
Lil Sugar, a blog dedicated to baby, toddlers, kids and parenting, this week posted ideas of how to transform a simple cardboard box into fantastic fancy dress piece. The costumes use as few tools as possible to make eco friendly outfits. Whether for an upcoming party, Halloween or just for fun!
Reach for the skies in an aeroplane outfit, save the day as a fearless fireman or rock out to the latest hits as a retro iPod!

Post-it Structures
Architect, Yo Shimada teamed up with students from Kyoto University of Art and Design, to create this amazing Post-it Structure for an installation at the gallery Artzone in Kyoto.
Created from approximately 30 thousand neon coloured post it notes, all stuck together forming wall-like structures through the gallery, the display is mesmorizing!
All visitors to the exhibition were asked to share their opinions of the piece by writing down their impressions and sticking them on the surrounding gallery walls. On Post-it notes of course!

Festival of Lights
Diwali, derived from the word "Deepavali" (दीपावली), translates into English as "row of lamps".
Honored by Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism, the five day festival has many different legends behind the celebration. Significant to all traditions of the story, is the importance of the victory of good over evil.
Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas or dīpas) filled with oil signifying the triumph of good over evil and movement from darkness into light.
During Diwali, all those celebrating wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.
This weekend, Diwali comes to London, lighting up Trafalgar Square in traditional Indian style, with displays and food stalls catering to all tastes.
Diwali on the Square will transform Trafalgar Square with vibrant celebrations, including light displays, colourful Diwali decorations, prayers for peace along with live music and traditional dance.

When I grow up, I want to be....
When we were young, we had many inspirational hopes and dreams of what we would like to be when we're older.
Many children aspire to become a fireman, a nurse or even a pop star!
Bubble London exhibitor 4funkyflavours took inspiration for their collection from ideas of growing up strong, famous, exceptional or rich.
The result is a collection with an endless combination of different colors, prints and materials. Fitting for any budding dancers, athletes, or those who will realise one day, the one thing they want to be when they grow up... is young again!
‘I’m going to play tennis at the top.’
‘First I want to be very rich, and then I’ll buy a fast car.'
Don't miss 4funkyflavours at the Autumn/Winter edition of Bubble London on 29 & 30 January 2012.

Thinking Outside the Box
Rainy days
It's that age old story that when you open up presents when you're young, children sometimes have more fun with the box than they do with the gift itself.
Singapore photographer Anton Tang creates and captures miniature scenes with Danboard Figures, characters which are popular in Japanese manga, relaying all kinds of adventures and emotions.

The photography reminded us of Little Esop's display at the January 2011 edition of Bubble London, winning the stand out competition with their cardboard robot head mannequins!

Fashion Fairground
We've been keeping an ear to the ground during Paris Fashion Week, following any coverage of the shows and unveiling of new collections.
When the curtain fell yesterday at the Louis Vuitton catwalk, revealing a full sized carousel with a white horse for each of the 48 models, it quite simply took our breath away.
With laser cutting, Broderie Anglaise, twinkling tulle, applique flowers, feathers and crystals, the ready to wear collection is elegantly ethereal.
Set to a soundtrack reminiscent of a little girl's musical jewellery box, even with Kate Moss on the runway and the heavenly icy coloured clothing; Marc Jacobs' candyfloss carousel still stole the show.
